プログラム概要The Program
The Toronto Clinical Training Program 2021 was conducted online for one week starting February 7, 2022. Seven fifth year students participated in the program.
2022年2月7日から1週間、Toronto Clinical Training Programをオンラインで実施し、7名の5回生が参加しました。
トロント小児病院・トロント大学でのプログラムProgram at SickKids and Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy
At the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), we participated in seminars given by the hospital's pharmacists, pharmacist residents and a doctor. We also made a case presentation on the first day.
トロント小児病院（SickKids）では、病院の薬剤師、薬剤師レジデント、医師によるセミナーに参加しました。また、初日には立命館大学の学生による症例発表を実施しました。
We held an exchange meeting with students of the Paediatric Initiative of Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Toronto. We also participated in a quiz competition on pediatric diseases and drug treatment using Kahoot!
トロント大学薬学部のPaediatric Initiativeの学生との交流会を実施しました。互いの国・大学での薬学部の教育システムやキャリアについて活発なコミュニケーションがとられていました。Kahoot!を使った小児の疾患や薬物治療に関するクイズ大会にも参加しました。

- 大学の授業では学ぶことができない、海外の医療制度や薬剤師業務を学ぶことができて、非常に良い経験となった。It was a very good experience to learn about a foreign health care system and pharmacy practice — things we cannot learn in university classes.
- 今回の研修を通して、英語能力だけでなく、人間性も向上させることができた。Through this program I was able to grow not only in English ability but also as a person.
- 研修初日は、英語で話すことに消極的だったが、最終日には英語で話すことに挑戦的な気持ちになれた。On the first day I was reluctant to speak English, but by the last day I felt ready to take on the challenge.
- 基本的な英語知識だけでなく、専門的な薬学知識も身につけることができた。さらに自身のキャリア形成におけるヒントや課題を見つけることができた。I gained not only basic English but also specialized pharmacy knowledge, and found hints and challenges for building my own career.
立命館大学内でのプログラムPrograms at Ritsumeikan University
College of Pharmaceutical Science, Ritsumeikan University, held various programs online such as case discussions, review sessions, and cross-cultural exchange sessions.
立命館大学薬学部では症例ディスカッション、レビューセッション、異文化交流セッションなど、さまざまなプログラムを実施しました。
We had a cross-cultural exchange session with TAs Xinjia WANG from China and lecturer Philip Gurney from Canada. We talked with them about OTC drugs (over-the-counter drugs) that are well known in our home countries as well as the role of pharmacists. On the last day, we had an online party where we introduced various snacks from each country and interacted with each other.
TAのXinjia WANGさん（生命科学研究科、中国出身）、講師のPhilip Gurney先生と異文化交流セッションを行い、自国でよく知られているOTC薬（市販薬）の紹介や、薬剤師の役割について話しました。最終日はオンライン・パーティを開き、各国のさまざまなお菓子を紹介しながら交流しました。

- 前日にSickKidsで学んだことを復習する良い機会であった。人に伝えることで、自分の理解を深められた。It was a good chance to review what we had learned at SickKids the day before. Explaining it to others deepened my own understanding.
- 伝えることとフィードバックの時間があったことで受けるだけでなく誰かに伝えるという経験がよかった。Having time to explain and to get feedback meant we were not just receiving but also passing on what we learned, which was valuable.

- カナダや中国の薬剤師の立ち位置や薬に対する考え方の違いが非常に興味深かった。The differences in the position of pharmacists and attitudes to medicines in Canada and China were fascinating.
- とても楽しいセッションで、英語でしっかりとコミュニケーションが取れているという実感を持つことができた。It was a really enjoyable session, and I felt that I was genuinely communicating in English.
- 各国の文化背景と共に、医療制度やヘルスケア事情を学ぶことができたた。I learned about the health care systems and situations in each country together with their cultural backgrounds.
