TCTP 2022 — Toronto Clinical Training Program

プログラム概要The Program

Seven fifth-year students participated in the two-week-long program conducted through the end of February to March, AY 2022. This study abroad experience marked the first in-person session in Toronto in three years, following a series of online implementations due to Covid-19 pandemic.

2022年度の2月から3月に2週間のプログラムが実施され、7名の5年生が参加しました。今回の留学は、コロナ禍のオンラインでの開催が続いた後、3年ぶりのトロントでの現地開催となりました。

日本の薬剤師の職能を広げて、カナダの薬剤師の職能に近づけていくのではなく、日本の中で求められている役割や国民性の違いなどを理解した上で、職能をさらに深めていきたいと感じた。Rather than trying to expand the role of Japanese pharmacists to match that of Canadian pharmacists, I felt I should deepen my own practice based on an understanding of what is needed in Japan and the differences between the two countries.
どんな時でも薬のプロフェッショナルとして、また医療チームの一員として真摯に患者に向き合える薬剤師になりたい。I want to be a pharmacist who, as a medicines professional and a member of the health care team, can always face patients sincerely.
薬剤師の職能を広げたいと今までは考えていたが、カナダと日本で医療制度や薬剤師（医療）に関するバックグラウンドの違いがあることを今回の留学で学んだ。その結果、職能を広げるのは現実的に難しいと考え、今ある職能を磨くことが重要であると感じた。I used to think I wanted to expand the scope of pharmacy practice, but on this program I learned how different the health care systems and the background of pharmacy are in Canada and Japan. I came to feel that expanding the scope is not realistic for now, and that it is more important to refine the practice we already have.
今回の研修を通してカナダでの薬剤師の職能の高さに憧れを持った。医療制度が異なるのでできることに差があることは仕方ないとは思うが、カナダでは薬剤師の地位が高くとても信頼されていると感じた。I came to admire the high level of pharmacy practice in Canada. Given the different health care systems it is natural that what pharmacists can do differs, but I felt that pharmacists in Canada have a high standing and are greatly trusted.
日本とカナダの医療制度や薬剤師の業務、システムの違いを学ぶことができ、同時に日本の良さも知ることもできた。I learned about the differences between Japan and Canada in health care systems, pharmacists’ work and processes, and at the same time came to appreciate the good points of Japan.

**トロント大学での交流会Party at the University of Toronto**Members of the Paediatrics Initiative at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Toronto hosted a networking event and welcomed us warmly.トロント大学薬学部の Paediatrics Initiative のメンバーが交流会を開き、温かく迎えてくれました。

**トロントの街を散策Exploring the City of Toronto**It was delightful to reunite with the University of Toronto students who had undergone training at Ritsumeikan University! They kindly showed us around the city of Toronto.立命館大学で研修をしていたトロント大学の学生と再会。トロントの街を案内してもらいました。

**赤ちゃんの3Dモデル3D Baby Models**Observing signs, including seizures and vital signs, in a 3D model of a baby.赤ちゃんの3Dモデルで、けいれんやバイタルサインなどの徴候を観察しました。
